What’s on my TBR List This Year?
Hello and happy not-so-new year! I was just looking through the books I read in 2020, and I realised that despite my extended absence from the blogosphere, I was able to read over 120 books (I stopped counting at 127). Since I’m on a roll, I decided to share the titles that have made it to my 2021 TBR list so far. The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty “The final chapter in the Daevabad Trilogy, in which a con-woman and an idealistic djinn prince join forces to save a magical kingdom from a devastating civil war…“ I’ve read the first two books in this series, and so far, I’m…

Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Tropes
I decided to take part in a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I may not do this every week, but I quite liked today’s prompt. *** We seem to spend more time criticising poorly done tropes (at least, I do) than we do highlighting the ones we like. So today, it’s time to celebrate the good things (purely subjective, of course). Here goes. FRIENDS TO LOVERS This is probably my favourite romance trope. It feels more genuine when the characters already know each other so well. And when it’s an HEA, I can almost believe it’ll last. “NORMAL” PEOPLE DOING EXTRAORDINARY THINGS. Not Batman, though. I dislike…

Book Series I Started (and loved) but Never Finished
I haven’t finished a lot of series, and I realised this when I was gathering books for my 20 Books for 20 Years post. So, here’s a list of book series I started, enjoyed, and plan to finish. Eventually. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer Cinder is one of the many books that have sparked joy in my life, and I can’t really say why I haven’t finished reading this series, especially since I have Winter, which is the book I’m yet to read. The Premonition by Amy Bartol It always helps when I have all the books at once, and that was the problem with this series. I binge…

20 Books For 20 Years
I’m twenty today! To someone who has been a teenager for the past few years, it feels like I’ve become ancient overnight. I’m celebrating two decades of being a bookworm (yes, it’s a lifestyle that started from birth) by listing twenty books that mean something to me. These are not my favourite books, but a few of them mark milestones in my reading life, while others just spark joy. *** Penguin Puzzle by Judith Stamper My first box set was a set of books from the Magic School Bus series. My first experience with borrowing someone a book and never getting it back also came as a result of this…

2019 Books that Have Me Feeling Curious
This year has just begun, so I thought it appropriate to kick things off with a list of book releases I’m looking forward to. I’m not one to make promises when it comes to books I’ll read because I like to read whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it. However, there are some 2019 books that have caught my eye, and I’m very eager to get my hands on them once they’re released. So in no particular order… *** *** So, there you have it! 2019 releases I expect great things from. Hopefully, they won’t let me down. Which books are you looking forward to reading this year?…
