21 Random Facts about this Twenty-Something Year Old
I always have trouble talking about myself without “just cause”. Since yesterday was my birthday, the cause couldn’t be more just. Here are 21 completely random things you more than likely did not know about me. 1. I’m 5’1. The world thinks I’m short, but I say my height is perfectly normal. 2. I am a morning person… I’m usually up at 4am. 3. But I think sleep is the most beautiful thing in the world. It really is. 4. My Myers-Briggs type is ISTJ. I think it’s pretty darn accurate. 5. I am a Gryffindor. I’ve never really paid attention to what it entails, but Pottermore, Buzzfeed, and a…

Long Time, No Blog
HELLO! I’d wish you a happy new year, but the year is anything but new at this stage. You probably noticed (at least, I hope you did) that towards the end of 2019, I disappeared from the internet. I like to think I’m back from my unannounced hiatus, but I’m now in my last semester of undergrad, so I’m swamped with more projects and research than ever before. Whatever the case, I’ll try not to disappear for more than two weeks at a time. That said, here are my hopes and dreams for this not-so-new year: Publish more “reaction-style” reviews. I’m ashamed to say I have a backlog of book…

I Got a Library Card // Random Rambling
I honestly don’t know why I’m writing about this relatively unremarkable occasion, but until a few weeks ago, a library card was a foreign concept to me. In a way, it still is. I come from a place that does not have a strong (or existing) “library culture”. Unless you attend a private school, you’d be hard pressed to have access to a good library. And because that’s the norm where I’m from, it never occurred to me when I came to the U.S for uni that there’d be working public libraries. And so, I never had any reason to look for one in my area. In case you’re wondering,…

Mood Reading at its Finest || Where I’ve Been
When this year started, I made a list of my most anticipated book releases of 2019. Knowing myself, I made no promise to actually read those books. But I planned to. The hope was that I’d make no promises so that if I eventually did succeed in reading them all, I’d post a 2019 wrap-up talking about it. Alas, we’re now in the second half of 2019, and I’ve only read one of those books. I have access to quite a few of them; I’ve just not read them. Because mood reading. I usually call it a reading slump (because that’s what it feels like) but the truth is, I’ve…

Bookish Hello Tag
This tag was created by The Book Piles, who was inspired by the Booktuber Newbie Tag (Brenda) and the This or That Tag (Tea and Paperbacks). There are a bunch of questions involved, so here goes: *** Did you start out loving or hating reading? I’ve loved reading for as long as I can remember. * When and why did you start reading? I grew up with books pretty much everywhere at home, so it was an easy hobby to grow into. I think the only time I didn’t read much was when I couldn’t read. * Do you read a variety of books or stick to a common theme?…

Top 5 Tuesday: Why I Love Reading
Hello everyone! Today, I decided to take part in a weekly meme hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Bookworm. I don’t know if this’ll be something I do every week, but I quite liked this week’s prompt. *** Here are the Top Five Reasons I Love Reading: My life is quite boring, so reading is my favourite way to spice things up. Reading makes me happy, and it’s the perfect way to keep myself occupied and entertained, while fully engaging my imagination in a way movies cannot. As drama-free as my life is, sometimes I just feel like spacing out completely. It’s a great feeling whenever I can forget my responsibilities…

Welcome to A Bookworm and a Half
A LITTLE HISTORY A Bookworm and a Half is not my first try at blogging, but I’m hoping it’ll be my last. Before this, I had a blog, which I started during my gap year in 2015. I was so used to having so much free time that when I started school a year after that, I found that I couldn’t keep up with school work and blogging. Inconsistent blogging aside, I found that at a point, about ninety percent of the books I featured on the blog were ARCs, and the fun of discovering new books and reading them at my own pace was no longer there. Even though…
